Why should I consider using Nutrilite™ Digestive Enzyme?
Sometimes our bodies don't produce enough of the enzymes we need for normal digestion, so a supplement may be the most practical way to get them.
Nutrilite™ Digestive Enzyme is NSF certified. What is NSF certified?
Choosing a product certified by NSF International gives you confidence that what's on the label is what's in the product. From extensive product testing and material analyses to unannounced plant inspections, every aspect of a product's development is thoroughly evaluated before it can earn NSF certification. NSF certification is your key to making sure that the products you use meet strict standards for public health protection.
What are digestive enzymes?
Enzymes are natural chemicals that bring about chemical reactions in plants and animals. Your body makes 22 digestive enzymes that help break down food. They work at different stages of the digestive process, triggered by different levels of acidity at different parts of your digestive tract (mouth, stomach, intestines). However, there are other enzymes we need for digestion that our bodies don't make. These enzymes are present in raw foods, vegetables, fruits, and meats.
Why are these extra digestive enzymes important?
These enzymes are vital for early stages of the digestion process – called predigestion. They start breaking down food during the first hour or so after eating, when it's still in the upper stomach, waiting for stomach acid to collect in the lower stomach to break it down further. Most of the digestive enzymes your body produces enter the process from the pancreas, downstream from your stomach.
Take one capsule with water at the beginning of each meal as needed (or open capsule and sprinkle over food that is not hot). If meal is large or unusually high in fat or protein, a second capsule may be taken at end of meal.
