What is the purpose of using phytosome technology in this product?
Dietary polyphenols such as EGCG tend to be poorly bioavailable and are not well absorbed into the body. These limitations may reduce the potential health benefits of dietary polyphenols found in green tea. Phytosome technology is designed to help overcome these limitations and to stabilize and better deliver these polyphenols to the body. *
What scientific evidence is there to support this product?
Green tea is one of the most popular ingredients in dietary supplements of weight management because many studies have demonstrated an effect on weight loss. In particular, two clinical trials were conducted to evaluate GreeenSelect Phytosome (green tea extract) material for weight loss and weight maintenance. Results of these studies suggest that GreenSelect Phytosome green tea extract may help weight loss when combined with a reduced-calorie diet and exercise program. In addition, Green Select Phytosome green tea extract is formulated in lecithin and delivered as a unique phospholipid complex which may help improve the absorption of EGCG in your body. * Phytosome technology was designed to help polyphenols such as EGCG cross the cell membranes.*
Why is a signature and proof of age required for this product and not others?
New York law imposes the requirements for certain dietary supplements making “weight loss” or "muscle building" claims. Only those products making these claims require a signature and age verification upon delivery. For states with these mandates, products will also be charged an additional fee. * A single clinical study involving 12 male subjects showed increased serum levels of EGCG after administering 400 mg EGCG in a Phytosome preparation compared to non-Phytosome preparation. Other clinical studies involving different botanical extracts in phospholipid preparations have shown similar results.
