The safety standards of Amway products
If you’ve never tried any of Amway’s nearly 400 health, beauty, fitness and home products, you may be wondering: Are Amway products any good? Are they safe or not?
The short answer is yes. All Amway products are safe when used as directed. The long answer? Yes, because Amway prioritizes the quality, effectiveness and safety of each product offered by the more than 1 million Independent Business Owners (IBOs) across the globe.
They are manufactured, tested and packaged according to current Good Manufacturing Practices and they meet or exceed regulatory standards in each of the 100+ countries and territories where they are sold, ensuring that the highest of standards are applied to every product, every time.
Rigorous product testing and quality control
The company has over 75 science and innovation labs performing more than 25,000 quality control tests each month and 500,000+ other types of evaluations, from testing raw materials to ensuring the stability and levels of the macro- and micronutrients in nutrition products.
Each test, checklist and evaluation helps ensure customer satisfaction with the quality and safety of every Amway product. If anything ever fails a test, there’s an immediate investigation to find the problem and ensure none of those products leave the manufacturing facility.
Traceability is a part of product safety
Careful records of each and every one of those tests and evaluations are kept as part of Amway’s rigorous and transparent traceability process. Each product has a paper trail documenting its journey from idea to formulation to manufacturing to packaging.
That includes the reason each raw ingredient was chosen, down to the specific seed strain of botanicals, where they were grown and who handled them on their journey to the final product – from planting and harvesting to processing and shipping and every test for purity, quality, safety and effectiveness done along the way.
More than 90% of the plant-based ingredients in Nutrilite™ products can be traced back to their original plot on the farm where they were grown. The traceability of the ingredients assures you that they are effective and authentic, not diluted or adulterated. This results in vitamins and supplements you can feel good about using and recommending to others.
Amway also chooses the source of its product ingredients very carefully, especially when it comes to botanicals. The company owns and operates nearly 6,000 acres of certified organic farmland , where no synthetic pesticides or herbicides are used.
And any outside farms Amway partners with must be certified under the NutriCert™ program, which requires their operations to be traceable, ecologically sustainable, socially responsible and held to the highest standards, just like Amway’s Nutrilite farms.
Third party verification of Amway product quality and safety
Amway knows its products are safe and effective, but the company also seeks outside certification by industry-trusted third parties that evaluate every aspect of a product, process or claim. Many products across several brands are certified by NSF, multiple Artistry™ products are registered by The Vegan Society and the Nutrilite botanical traceability standard is verified by Ecocert SA.
Additionally, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)'s Safer Choice program, which helps consumers identify and select products that have safer ingredients without sacrificing quality or performance, has recognized 43 Amway Home Care formulas.
The Amway Promise: Product satisfaction guaranteed
Rooted in a strong commitment to protecting consumers and Independent Business Owners, Amway offers some of the strongest consumer protections in the industry. The company stands behind its products with a 100% satisfaction guarantee through the Amway Promise. If a customer decides they are not completely satisfied, the Amway return policy states that they can return it within the designated timeframe for an exchange or refund.
