Is there a registration fee to sell Amway products?
There is no fee to become an Amway Independent Business Owner, or IBO. Anyone who wants to get started on their entrepreneurial journey selling Amway’s health and wellbeing products to customers can do so without any upfront costs. The Amway registration fee is complimentary for new IBOs and after the first year it’s followed by a small annual renewal fee.
Amway also doesn’t have any of the traditional startup costs that hinder so many other entrepreneurs. New IBOs don’t have to invest in research and development, product manufacturing and shipping, brick and mortar locations, inventory overhead or customer service.
Amway handles all of that. The company has nearly 400 health and wellbeing products and solutions plus free training and education so IBOs can become knowledgeable about those products and start selling right away without any required upfront costs.
The basics of Amway IBO registration
Now that we’ve established that there is no Amway registration fee, let’s talk about the path to becoming an Amway Independent Business Owner. Many people hear about the Amway opportunity from someone who is already an Amway IBO.
What is an Amway IBO?
An Amway IBO is someone who owns their own business selling any of Amway’s nutrition, beauty, fitness or home products to customers. That includes exclusive access to Nutrilite™ vitamins, supplements and organics; Artistry™ skin care and makeup; XS™ sports and fitness offerings and multiple products that support a healthy home.
Hundreds of thousands of people across North America, including in every U.S. state, take advantage of the Amway opportunity to earn a little extra by helping their customers reach their health and wellbeing goals with Amway’s high quality products. In fact, Amway is the number one direct selling company in the world with over 1 million IBOs operating in more than 100 countries and territories across the globe.
The process of becoming an Amway IBO
Once you decide you want to become an Amway IBO, you can work with the person who introduced you to the Amway business to sign up. They become your sponsor in the business, helping you register, introducing you to other IBOs on their team and helping connect you to all the free online training and courses offered through Amway Education.
Amway also provides new IBOs with a digital step-by-step guide to help them make the most out of their first 30 days in business by showing them how to set up their digital storefront, finding the products they are most passionate about and taking advantage of deals on samples to share with customers.
If you came across the Amway opportunity on your own, simply contact the Amway Customer Service Department and they will find a sponsor in your area to help you get started.
Initial Amway registration fee: $0
When Amway was created in 1959, founders Rich DeVos and Jay Van Andel believed that the Amway opportunity is for everyone. A complimentary registration fee for new Amway IBOs delivers on that mission by removing financial barriers that might discourage some people from trying entrepreneurship.
Additional costs and considerations
Amway has zero purchase requirements for IBOs. Amway’s efficient distribution system means IBOs don’t have to carry any product inventory. They can enter orders online and Amway will ship products to the IBOs for delivery or directly to the customers.
Some IBOs, however, may prefer to purchase some products for customer convenience or demonstration purposes. And within the first 30 days, new IBOs have the option to purchase Starter Stacks, a customizable selection of full-size products that come with dozens of free Amway samples to share with customers.
Amway Education offers more than 150+ virtual courses in five languages. New IBOs in their first year can also take advantage of additional free training and education support from Amway Approved Providers. Approved Providers are authorized by Amway to provide optional training through things like conferences, literature, webinars and more.
Amway return policy
Amway’s exclusive products are manufactured under strict standards that go above and beyond basic quality control, including exhaustive tests for quality and performance. But if a customer decides they are not completely satisfied, the Amway return policy states that they can return it within the designated timeframe for an exchange or refund. IBOs who decide to leave the Amway business can also return any unsold Amway products with limited exceptions.
Amway renewal fee
While the registration fee for new IBOs is complimentary, those who decide to continue with Amway beyond the first year will be required to pay an annual renewal fee of $76.*
Support for Amway IBOs
Amway believes you’re in business for yourself but never by yourself. When people register to become Amway Independent Business Owners, not only do they have the support of the IBO who introduced them to the business and the rest of their team, they also have the support of the entire Amway operation.
That includes more than 14,000 employees around the world, including the 440 scientists and 200 engineers who make up the bulk of the Amway Innovation and Science department that is continually looking for new or improved products that help people live healthier lives.
It also includes online and mobile tools to help IBOs manage their business and educate customers about which products might be right for them, like the Amway Wellness Recommender and the Artistry Virtual Beauty App. And the Amway Customer Service team is available to answer questions in five languages from customers or IBOs about products for the business.
Amway also supports IBOs by enforcing a strict code of conduct to ensure all IBOs and the integrity of the Amway business are protected. The company is also a longstanding member of the Direct Selling Association, which requires its members to follow a strong code of ethics.
