How was the new eSpring Water Purifier developed?

  • Amway™ has almost 40 years of experience in designing and selling point-of-use water purifiers. We introduced the first kitchen water filtration system to use a carbon-block filter, ultraviolet light and electronic monitoring technology combined in a single unit. The new eSpring Water Purifier evolved from that first water purifier.
  • As of 2021, Amway Independent Business Owners have sold more than 10 million water purifiers in 48 countries and territories. eSpring is the world’s number-one-selling brand of home water purifiers.*
  • The new eSpring Water Purifier leverages the latest cutting-edge water purification technology, along with customer-focused improvements to our design, installation and maintenance.

*Based on a Verify Markets study of 2022 global sales revenue.

How is the new eSpring Water Purifier better than the previous model?

  • The new eSpring Water Purifier features UV-C LED technology, an advanced new way to treat water. Our engineers helped pioneer the use of UV-C LEDs for on-demand treatment of water. UV-C LEDs are designed to last up to 10 years.
  • Cleaner, better-tasting water. The combined power of our e3 Carbon Filter and UV-C LED technology provides clean, great-tasting water. The UV-C LEDs effectively destroy up to 99.9% of bacteria, viruses and waterborne cysts.^ The e3 Carbon Filter effectively reduces 170+ contaminants, including PFOA and PFOS, microplastics down to 0.2 microns and 19 categories of pharmaceuticals.^ That’s up from 140+ listed for our previous model.
  • e3 Carbon Filter. Three layers of filtration:
  • Pre-filter – traps larger particles, such as scale precipitate, dirt, sediment, sand and dust down to 0.2 microns.
  • Defense Guard – captures fine particles down to 0.2 microns such as microplastics, asbestos and waterborne bacteria and viruses;^ improves water clarity.
  • Carbon block – effectively reduces 19 categories of pharmaceuticals,^ lead, mercury, VOCs, PFOA and PFOS, pesticides, herbicides and more.^
  • The new eSpring Water Purifier uses 25% less energy when actively in use compared to our previous model. The UV-C LEDs are designed to last up to 10 years, so no annual UV lamp disposal. With average annual use, the e3 Carbon Filter treats up to 5,000 L of water annually – the equivalent to 10,000 500 mL single-use plastic water bottles.
  • The new eSpring Water Purifier has a 16% smaller footprint and is designed to fit right against the wall or backsplash. It features an enhanced unit display that shows filter life, UV-C LED status and connectivity, simply and intuitively.
  • Connected experience. Our new Amway Healthy Home app lets users monitor filter life and usage stats, order filters, download how-to videos and product manuals, register their Amway devices and more. The app also syncs with the Atmosphere Sky™ and Atmosphere Mini™ air-treatment systems. Customers can monitor their air and water purifiers from anywhere using their smart device all from one convenient app!

^The eSpring Water Purifier is designed only for use with potable drinking water deemed safe to drink by local public health authorities.

Actual filter life depends on water quality and usage.

How has the water flow changed because of the new eSpring Water Purifier design?

The flow rate is now 0.75 GPM (2.8 L/min). Most customers won’t notice the reduced flow rate, and they’ll appreciate the increased number of contaminants filtered by the new eSpring Water Purifier. You can still fill a 1 L reusable water bottle in approximately 45 seconds.

How is filter life calculated?

The e3 Carbon Filter is thoroughly tested to support performance claims for 5,000 L of average water usage. Once a filter has filtered 5,000 L of water or has been installed and wet for one year, the performance gradually starts to go down. To protect the user and ensure the unit is meeting all performance claims, the filter is considered to be at end of life once it reaches either 5,000 L or one year. However, the unit may indicate that a filter change is necessary earlier, depending on your water quality and usage.

Actual filter life depends on water quality and usage.

Why do I hear more noise during filtration?

By separating the UV-C LED system from the carbon-block filter, the new eSpring unit has a longer water path. This longer path allows for increased performance and may also cause more audible water noise compared with the current system.

My new eSpring unit’s power cord is not long enough to reach the nearest outlet. What can I do?

We are in the process of changing over to use a 2 m power cord to address this issue.

Which independent organizations have verified the new eSpring Water Purifier?

  • Amway is the first company to have a water purifier with UV-C LED technology certified by NSF International to NSF/ANSI Standard 55 for Class B microbial reduction.
  • The new eSpring Water Purifier is NSF® certified to the following standards: NSF/ANSI Standard 42, 53, 55 and 401.
  • The new eSpring Water Purifier earned the Water Quality Association Gold Seal for superb consumer water-treatment products.

Why does the new eSpring Water Purifier use UV-C LEDs to treat water?

  • Technology has been upgraded, and the UV lamp is being phased out.
  • UV-C LEDs are the future of water-purification technology, and we are among the first to use it for on-demand purification of drinking water.
  • UV-C LEDs effectively destroy up to:
    • 99.9999% of bacteria^
    • 99.99% of viruses^
    • 99.9% of waterborne cysts^
  • UV-C LEDs are designed to last up to 10 years with no annual UV lamp disposal.

What improvements have been made to the eSpring e3 Carbon Filter?

Our eSpring e3 Carbon Filter provides incredible contaminant reduction and water-treatment performance using three layers of filtration:

  • Pre-filter – traps larger particulates such as sediment, scale precipitate and iron particles.
  • Defense Guard – captures fine particles such as microplastics, asbestos and waterborne pathogens;^ improves water clarity.
  • Carbon block – effectively reduces 19 categories of pharmaceuticals, lead, mercury, VOCs, PFOA and PFOS, pesticides, herbicides and more.^
  • The e3 Carbon Filter now effectively reduces 19 categories of pharmaceuticals – up from nine for the current eSpring model!
